1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing or using Carsavaar, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the policies specifically referenced by them.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use Carsavaar.
These Terms apply to passengers, drivers, and other people who access or use the Carsavaar platform.
2. What Carsavaar Does
Carsavaar is an intercity carpooling platform that helps passengers discover available rides and helps drivers share available seats on journeys between cities.
Carsavaar provides technology and platform functionality that may allow users to publish rides, discover rides, communicate about rides, make bookings, make payments, and use ride-management and safety features.
Unless Carsavaar expressly states otherwise, a Carsavaar listing should not be understood to mean that Carsavaar owns the vehicle, employs the driver, or directly operates the journey.
Carsavaar may change, add, suspend, or discontinue platform features as the service develops.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You must provide reasonably accurate information when creating or using a Carsavaar account and must keep important account information reasonably current.
Unless Carsavaar expressly provides otherwise in accordance with applicable law, you must be at least 18 years old to create and use a Carsavaar account.
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for activity carried out through your account, subject to applicable law.
You must not create an account using another person's identity or use Carsavaar to impersonate another person.
4. Driver Responsibilities
Drivers are responsible for the accuracy and legality of information they provide about themselves, their vehicle, their ride, and the seats they make available.
Drivers must:
- provide truthful and reasonably complete information;
- provide information and documents requested by applicable Carsavaar verification processes;
- have the legal authority and necessary permissions to use the vehicle for the ride;
- hold a valid driving licence and comply with applicable driving requirements;
- maintain legally required vehicle registration and insurance;
- comply with applicable traffic, transport, vehicle, insurance, safety, and other laws;
- keep the vehicle in a condition reasonably suitable for the ride;
- publish accurate pickup, destination, timing, fare, and seat information;
- communicate material changes or cancellations as soon as reasonably possible;
- treat passengers respectfully; and
- not offer a ride that the driver is legally or practically unable to provide.
Carsavaar's acceptance or verification of a driver's information does not transfer the driver's legal responsibilities to Carsavaar.
5. Passenger Responsibilities
Passengers are responsible for the information they provide during account creation, ride searches, bookings, and communications.
Passengers must:
- provide accurate booking and contact information;
- arrive at the agreed pickup location within the applicable pickup window;
- follow reasonable safety instructions and applicable ride rules;
- treat drivers and other passengers respectfully;
- avoid damaging the vehicle or interfering with safe driving;
- not carry prohibited or unlawful items; and
- follow applicable booking, payment, cancellation, and conduct requirements.
6. Creating and Publishing a Ride
Drivers may publish rides through the Carsavaar platform using the ride-creation functionality available at the time.
A driver is responsible for ensuring that the published ride information is accurate and reflects the journey the driver actually intends to undertake.
Carsavaar may restrict or reject ride listings that appear fraudulent, misleading, unsafe, unlawful, incomplete, or inconsistent with platform requirements.
Publishing a ride does not guarantee that the ride will receive a booking.
7. Ride Information and Changes
Ride information may include driver information, vehicle details, pickup location, destination, departure time, available seats, fare, and other information relevant to a particular ride.
Drivers are responsible for keeping their ride information reasonably accurate.
Traffic, weather, road conditions, vehicle issues, passenger delays, unexpected events, and other circumstances may affect a journey.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, displayed departure and arrival times are estimates and are not guaranteed exact arrival times.
Material changes to a ride may result in cancellation, refund, rebooking, support action, or other outcomes depending on the circumstances and applicable policy.
8. Booking a Ride
A passenger may request or book a ride through the booking process provided by Carsavaar.
A booking becomes confirmed only when Carsavaar indicates that the booking has been successfully confirmed.
The booking page may display important information including fare, fees, pickup location, destination, cancellation conditions, payment requirements, and other ride-specific conditions.
Passengers should review this information before completing the transaction.
9. Payments, Fees and Charges
Carsavaar may facilitate passenger payments through third-party payment providers, including Razorpay where applicable.
The applicable fare, platform charges, taxes, fees, or other amounts payable should be displayed at the relevant stage of the booking or payment process.
Users must not intentionally bypass the Carsavaar payment process to avoid an applicable platform charge or other transaction requirement.
Carsavaar may investigate failed payments, disputed transactions, suspected fraud, chargebacks, refund issues, or other payment-related problems.
10. Boarding OTP and Ride Start
Carsavaar may use a booking-specific OTP or similar verification mechanism to confirm that a passenger has boarded or that a ride has started.
A passenger should share a boarding OTP only with the authorized driver or through the Carsavaar process specifically intended for that verification.
Drivers must not request or use an OTP for a purpose unrelated to the applicable booking.
Verification of a boarding OTP confirms a ride-start event according to the Carsavaar system. It does not, by itself, confirm that the journey has been completed.
Carsavaar may record OTP verification events for security, ride management, dispute resolution, payment processing, and settlement controls.
11. Ride Tracking and Completion
Carsavaar may use multiple technical and operational signals to determine ride status and completion.
Depending on the ride and features used, these signals may include boarding verification, live location information, route progress, timestamps, booking status, passenger or driver actions, destination-related information, and backend verification checks.
Google Maps or another mapping service may assist with mapping or location functionality but does not by itself determine whether Carsavaar considers a ride completed.
Carsavaar may delay or investigate completion and settlement where there are signals of fraud, dispute, abnormal ride activity, cancellation, technical failure, or other circumstances requiring review.
12. Driver Settlement
Where a passenger payment is collected through Carsavaar, the driver's settlement is governed by the applicable Carsavaar payment and settlement process.
A driver is not automatically entitled to receive the passenger's payment merely because the passenger has made a successful payment or because the ride has been booked.
Where Carsavaar's applicable payment architecture requires boarding verification and successful ride completion, driver settlement may depend on those conditions being satisfied.
Carsavaar may delay, review, adjust, or withhold settlement where reasonably necessary to investigate cancellation, fraud, disputes, refunds, payment reversals, safety issues, or other legitimate concerns.
The specific settlement timing and applicable fees should be displayed or otherwise communicated through the relevant driver/payment flow.
13. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation and refund outcomes may depend on who cancelled the booking, when the cancellation occurred, the reason for cancellation, the applicable ride conditions, and the payment method.
The cancellation and refund conditions displayed for a particular booking form part of the applicable transaction conditions.
If a refund is approved, the time required for funds to reach the original payment method may depend on the payment provider, bank, card network, UPI system, or other financial intermediary.
Carsavaar may review repeated cancellations, suspicious cancellation patterns, fraudulent activity, or misuse of refund processes.
14. Safety
Carsavaar may use account controls, driver information, verification processes, ride information, communication features, location-related features, reporting mechanisms, and other measures intended to reduce risks.
These measures are intended to improve platform safety but cannot guarantee that every user, driver, vehicle, journey, road condition, or interaction will be safe.
Users should exercise reasonable judgment before and during a ride.
If you face an immediate threat, accident, medical emergency, or other urgent situation, contact the appropriate emergency services first.
Safety concerns should also be reported to Carsavaar as soon as reasonably possible.
15. Driver Verification
Carsavaar may require drivers to provide information or documents as part of its driver or vehicle verification process.
Verification may be used to assess eligibility, reduce fraud, protect users, investigate safety concerns, and maintain platform integrity.
Verification does not constitute a guarantee that a driver will behave appropriately, drive safely, maintain a vehicle properly, or comply with every applicable legal requirement.
Drivers remain responsible for the legality and safety of their vehicle, driving, insurance, and conduct.
16. Communication Between Users
Carsavaar may provide communication functionality between passengers and drivers for purposes connected with a booking or ride.
Users must not use Carsavaar communication features to harass, threaten, abuse, scam, impersonate, or unlawfully discriminate against another person.
Carsavaar may process communication information where reasonably necessary to provide the service, investigate reports, prevent misuse, resolve disputes, or protect users.
Users should not share sensitive personal information, passwords, payment credentials, or identity documents through an inappropriate communication channel.
17. Prohibited Use
You must not use Carsavaar to:
- engage in illegal or fraudulent activity;
- impersonate another person or provide materially false information;
- harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against another person;
- share another person's private information without authorization;
- create fake rides, fake bookings, fake accounts, or misleading listings;
- bypass Carsavaar security, payment, or access controls;
- introduce malware, malicious code, or harmful technology;
- scrape, harvest, copy, or systematically collect platform information without authorization;
- manipulate bookings, reviews, ratings, payments, OTPs, ride-status information, or settlement systems;
- interfere with normal Carsavaar operation; or
- use Carsavaar in a manner that violates these Terms or applicable law.
18. Account Suspension or Termination
Carsavaar may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account or particular platform functionality where reasonably necessary.
Examples may include:
- fraud or suspected fraud;
- serious or repeated Terms violations;
- safety concerns;
- unlawful activity;
- materially false information;
- payment abuse or manipulation;
- misuse of OTP or ride-status systems;
- harassment or abuse; or
- circumstances that could reasonably harm users or the integrity of Carsavaar.
Where appropriate and reasonably possible, Carsavaar may provide information about the reason for an account restriction and any available review or appeal process.
19. Reviews and User Content
Carsavaar may allow users to submit ratings, reviews, photos, comments, feedback, messages, or other content.
You are responsible for content you submit and must have the necessary rights or permissions to provide it.
User content must not be unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, abusive, defamatory, deliberately misleading, or invasive of another person's privacy.
By submitting content to Carsavaar, you grant Carsavaar permission reasonably necessary to host, display, process, moderate, protect, and use that content for operating and improving the platform, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
20. Carsavaar Content and Intellectual Property
The Carsavaar name, logo, website, application, software, designs, graphics, text, interfaces, and other platform materials may be protected by intellectual property laws.
Unless permitted by Carsavaar or applicable law, you must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit Carsavaar's protected content or technology.
User content remains subject to the rights of its creator or owner, subject to the permissions granted to Carsavaar under these Terms.
21. Third-Party Services
Carsavaar may rely on third-party services for functions such as authentication, maps, location services, payment processing, communications, hosting, analytics, security, and verification.
Third-party services operate according to their own terms and policies. Their availability or functionality may change independently of Carsavaar.
Carsavaar does not control third-party systems and cannot guarantee their uninterrupted availability.
22. Platform Availability
Carsavaar aims to keep the platform available and reliable, but continuous or uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Access may be affected by maintenance, updates, technical problems, network issues, security incidents, third-party services, or circumstances outside reasonable control.
Carsavaar may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the platform develops.
23. Responsibility and Limitations
Carsavaar provides a technology platform intended to help users arrange intercity carpooling.
Carsavaar does not control every aspect of a journey or every interaction between users.
Drivers remain responsible for their vehicles, driving, legal compliance, insurance, conduct, and the journeys they provide. Passengers remain responsible for their own decisions, conduct, belongings, and compliance with applicable requirements.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Carsavaar is not responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control, including traffic, weather, road conditions, vehicle failures, user conduct, delays, or failures of third-party services.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any right, liability, remedy, or protection that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
